believe me- it's not! But it is helping and I'll do whatever it takes to return to my playful self. :)

Thanks for sharing. A couple of questions:

1) How did your hip get in this condition (I have seen some of your workouts so I shouldn't have to ask :) ) Do you think it was pre-CrossFit type activities? Just the bad forms/habits we grow up with?
2) What were your symptoms?
3) Do you expect 90+% recovery with this treatment
4) Did you go see a traditional ortho/joint Dr. as well? If so what did he/she say?

Thanks again for posting - fascinating stuff!

Hey Randall,

I opted for the hip scope and I'm really glad I did. Turns out I had a bone spur that had caused my labral tear...and multiple smaller ones that had not yet begun causing pain. The spur wasn't visible via MRI or x-ray. Now that they've shaved it off, I won't have to deal with a potential tear in the future. The recovery has been super fast as well. Three weeks ago I had the scope, I was off crutches in 10 days, another 7 days later and I was able to be speedy on the stationary bike. I'm scheduled to be cleared to run on March 1.

Chris- I chalk this injury up to overtraining. I can't put my finger on a time or date of anything. I started feeling pain, it grew, eventually a MRI revealed the tear. I don't think it was bad habbits or poor form. It anything, form has saved me on many a hard jump, lift, or fall. I aim for a full 100% recovery- but know its a slow process. I have not been to a trad. ortho/joint Dr.
Georgia- I am so glad to hear you're doing so well. I am worlds better than when I first started. Not up to a stationary bike yet...hehe but lots better than where I was.
